"The Art of Building Influence"
So many go about influencing the wrong way. They focus on ‘how can I get this other person to do what I want?’, a one-sided transactional approach. To have true influence, you first need to guide the discussion to uncover the areas that motivate that other person, then dig deeply into those.
Job Search Strategist John Hadley has written an insightful series on Building Influence. Join us as he shares key insights to help you conduct more influential conversions:
- Meetings with employers that set you apart from other staffing professionals and recruiters,
- Networking conversations that truly engage your contacts, and
- Needs assessments that motivate clients, prospects and candidates to take action.
John Hadley helps job seekers who are frustrated with their search.
After graduating from Stanford University, John worked in the financial services industry for 25 years, in roles ranging from Product Manager to Chief Actuary. He then opened a successful consulting practice which generated over $2.5 million in revenues. Two decades ago he started his Career Search Counseling business, and has helped hundreds of professionals land the job and pay they deserve.
John is a popular speaker and author on career and career search topics. In addition to editing and writing for the leadership and development magazine The Stepping Stone, John publishes his own Career Tips Email newsletter, bringing over 9,000 subscribers expert advice on marketing yourself for a career search. "Staffing Success Unleashed: The Power of Personal Branding"
Presented by Mike McKerns
In the staffing industry, developing your own personal brand can be the key to unlocking opportunities. Whether you are on the recruiting or sales side of the business, success often hinges on your ability to persuade others to recognize the value you, as an individual, are able to provide.
Personal branding is a deliberate and strategic practice where you define and communicate your unique value proposition. While individuals have long been mindful of their public image and reputation, the advent of online search and social media has significantly amplified both the potential audience for your personal brand and the associated risks and rewards. To thrive in this modern landscape, it's essential to master the art of personal branding and leverage it to achieve both professional and personal success.
In "Staffing Success Unleashed: The Power of Personal Branding" we will talk through practical ways to improve your personal brand and leverage it for success regardless of where you are on the spectrum of personal branding - from "I've never heard of it" to "What should I focus my next TED talk on?"
Mike McKerns has dedicated over two decades to the Staffing Industry. His journey began as the head of Sales for Pathfinders in the Philadelphia market, where he honed his expertise for eight years.
In an entrepreneurial twist, Mike embarked on a new venture and founded Mamu Media, a content marketing company exclusively devoted to empowering staffing companies to elevate their brand. For nearly a decade, he passionately steered Mamu Media towards success, before merging it with Haley Marketing, headquartered in Buffalo, NY.
But Mike's story doesn't stop there. In 2021, he returned to his roots in Sales, taking on the role of Enterprise Account Executive with Avionte Staffing Software. With his wealth of experience and dedication to the industry, Mike McKerns continues to make a lasting impact.
